In this paper, we present some new properties for $p$-biharmon\-ic hypersurfaces in a Riemannian manifold. We also characterize the $p$-biharmonic submanifolds in an Einstein space. We construct a new example of proper $p$-biharmonic hypersurfaces. We present some open problems.
